About

I am a post-doctoral researcher (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) in project C05 The limits of variability in extraction asymmetries (PI: Doreen Georgi) which is part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1287 Limits of Variability in Language: Cognitive, Grammatical, and Social Aspects at the University of Potsdam. Prior to that, I was a PhD student in the DFG-funded graduate school IGRA (Interaktion grammatischer Bausteine/Interaction of grammatical building blocks) at the University of Leipzig where I completed my dissertation with the title Verbal Fronting: Typology and Theory in January 2018. Before that, I acquired a B.A. and an M.A. in Linguistics as well as a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Leipzig.

Research Interests

My research interest lies mainly in syntax and its interface with morphology. In the past few years I had a focus on doubling/replication phenomena but I have also worked on the interaction between syncretism and ATB-movement as well as on inflection classes. Currently, I take interest in the following topics:

  • The cross-linguistic patterning of anti-agreement
  • Serial verb constructions in African languages
  • Deverbal nominalizations
  • Syntax of VP, in particular concerning V(P)-fronting
